This Classical guitarist is based in North Wales and is available for functions and weddings. For the past 15 years he has concentrated much of his energies into mastering the craft of classical guitar playing. Over the past 10 years he has maintained a living as a professional restaurant entertainer, seasonal residential musician in the gardens of Portmeirion and concert artist. Having made several appearances in local festivals and carnivals, he has also played at various prestigious venues such as the Portmeirion Hotel, Tref Ysgawen Hall, Beaumaris Castle as well as more intimate restaurants.
So what kind of standard of performance can you expect from him? He passed his Grade 8 practical after only 5 years study under his first tutor, Mr. Anthony Smithson (ARCM, AGSM) who described him as a person that shows "a high degree of initiative in his preparation's." Mr. Smithson then adds, "I think he is very talented." Having studied in Newcastle upon Tyne College of Art and Technology, and Bangor University his knowledge of music spans from Blues and Rock through to Jazz and Classical. His Love of Spanish music and flamenco lead him to Spain where he searched for the "gitanos" so that he could experience the real spirit of flamenco at first hand. Indeed he was often asked to play with them.
Paul Etienne, a successful concert guitarist from the Netherlands, compares this recording with the works of Norbert Kraft, Fabio Zanon and Kurt Schneewis and comments that "I was listening with great pleasure (and admiration) really impressive!" his future aims lie in the more committed profession of international concerts, but he also intends to record and produce albums of his own compositions on his own record Label.
