He is a freelance guitar/sitar player (although he has been known to dabble with other stringed instruments!), composer and arranger.
He is a sitar student of Pandit Arvind Parikh (senior-most disciple of Ustad Vilayat Khan) and travels to Mumbai, India whenever possible for tuition.
He has also studied sitar with Dharambir Singh and Mehboob Nadeem and attended workshops/summer schools with khyal vocalists Rajan and Sajan Mishra, sarod player Buddhadev Das Gupta, tabla player Sharda Sahai and sitarist Budhaditya Mukherjee.
Although a trained classical sitarist, he has been involved in a number of fusion projects and non-Indian studio work.
He is currently available as a Sitar player for classical recitals, recording work and other projects including weddings, Indian theme nights and other functions.
Recent live performances include : Donny Osmond, Noel Sullivan (Hear'say), BBC Radio 2 session, Marcus Malone and various performances at the Jazz Café, Royal College of Music, Ronnie Scott's, QEII Cruise ship and various UK and European tours.
Recent studio work includes Ruth Hammonds "All The Good Things" , Stefan Redtenbacher"s "Falling From Insanity", Rob Nields "One Eleven", The Mike Nichols Trio with Simon Pearson on drums, Jam Van 5 ( a new project with drummer Ali Van Ryne)"".., and some recording at Gilbert O"Sullivan's Jersey studio for the new Pete Aves CD.
Recent theatre work includes : Mamma Mia (London, West End), Brighton Rock (Almeida Theatre, Islington, London), Rock and Pop Icons (Electric Theatre, Guildford for the ACM), From The Top (Epsom Playhouse for Laines Theatre Arts), Godspell (Thorndike Theatre, Leatherhead), TheWizz (The Old Firestation, Oxford), Grease (Jersey Opera House) and Evita (Gaiety Theatre, Isle of Man). He has studied at Leeds College of Music, the University of Leeds and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London.
