Biography
Music for voice and guitar, was set up to perform the large repertoire of songs available for voice and guitar, and to commission new works. They have been awarded an A4E Arts Lottery grant to commission two new works by Ruth Byrchmore and John Rushby Smith which were premiered in 1998 at the Royal Garden Hotel, London. They have performed for a number of venues and festivals including for Dillington Guitar Festival, Westminster Arts, Lancaster Arts, Warwick Arts Centre, Cheltenham Town Hall, Shrewsbury Music Hall, Music at Leicester University the Beaufort Concert series and at the Barber Institute, Birmingham, as well touring in Italy, France and Spain.
Available for functions and concerts, with the possibility to add further singers or guitarists if required in order to add more variety. Their large repertoire of songs can fit any occasion especially those linked with a romantic theme!
Soprano
Studied at the Birmingham Conservatoire and the Conservatorio di Musica, Perugia, funded by an Italian Government Scholarship. She has performed as a soloist throughout UK; oratorio work includes Verdi's Requiem, Tippett's "A Child of Our Time", Britten's War Requiem and the first performance of Pehkonen's Laudate. Concert experience includes recitals at the City of London and Cheltenham International Festivals, and Songs of the Auvergne at Symphony Hall Birmingham.
Guitarist:
Specialises in performing with singers as an accompanist. Studying with Timothy Walker, Eleftheria Kotzia and Carlos Bonell he has performed music for voice and guitar with Neil Latchman and also the Imperial Male Voice Choir!
