This Midlands flamenco guitarist started out in1997 by learning electric and acoustic finger-style Blues, inspired by early influences such as Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Peter Green, J.J. Cale, John Lee Hooker and early 1920’s/30’s Delta, Country and Ragtime Blues such as Robert Johnson and Mississippi John Hurt.
Three years later he then spent several years exploring his own roots by living in Andalucia, Spain… Home of Flamenco! After touring every city and many towns he settled to live in ‘Las Alpujarras’ a mountain region of the vast Sierra Nevada surrounding the great city of Granada… Immersing himself in the Spanish Culture he studied and performed Flamenco Guitar with locals and Gypsies!
“A natural ability to draw audiences into solo flamenco guitar music is just one impressive aspect of his stagecraft. His music is genial, reflective and always delivered in a flowing, unhurried style. In performance, he explores the rhythm's and melodies of his favourite flamenco palos with subtle originality and a respect for the traditions of this art. Currently living, performing, teaching (and still studying) Flamenco Guitar in the UK”.
"Thanks for helping to make our wedding day so memorable! We had a brilliant time and your playing was perfect - we got lots of comments about how good it was and you pitched it just right in terms of the type of stuff you played and the volume. Like I said before, Lorna and I love the flamenco influenced stuff as it reminds us of good times and we like the passion of it, and I think I might've also detected a bit of blues which I also love. The applause was much deserved!"
"Hi Geoff, the guitarist was excellent thank you - even the guests from Sevilla were impressed with his Bulerias. He was polite and accommodating - even delaying his departure for an hour during the speeches so we could borrow his speaker and amp! Nice chap to talk to as well. The service from yourselves was excellent, the booking process was managed very well. Thanks for helping out at short notice."
Warm regards" Steve Davies July 2012
"I just wanted to drop you a quick line to say thank you so much for playing at our wedding yesterday. You really gave the reception a great atmosphere and everyone really enjoyed you being there - including us!! Thanks for agreeing to do it at such short notice too. We would definitely be happy to write a recommendation for you should you need one for any future wedding business."
"Arrived back yesterday from our honeymoon, in which we had a great time. Thank you so much for playing at our wedding. We thoroughly enjoyed it and have had numerous comments on how great you were. I will definitely be recommending you to friends and family. Many thanks again"
“Flamenco’s natural environment is a party, men and women gather round wine and food, shyness disappears, pain gets light-headed and finally forgotten, people exchange knowing looks and music and joy make an odd beauty. Just for some hours, human kinds old dream, freedom becomes real and can be touched”.
